The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The book is about a girl named Katniss, the protagonist, who lived on district 12. There are 12 districts and a main city named the Capitol. The country is named Panem. Her sister, whose name is Primrose, is called in the reaping for the Hunger Games. To save her sister, Katniss decides to offer herself to the capitol as a tribute instead of her sister. For each district, there are chosen 2 tributes, a male and a female from the ages 12 to 17. The other tribute from district 12 was Peeta. Through all the hunger games Katniss has an inner conflict of killing people to save herself or to let other people kill her, she passes through a lot of situations that make her react and do something to survive.
I would recommend this book to the people that like to get engaged in the reading and that like action books. The author does a good job in making the audience get to feel the characters and to want to know more. The writing of the story is very good because it has a very fast rhythm so it makes a lot of events happen within a few pages. Also I would recommend this to people from 8th grade up because is a book that has a lot of violence and social discrimination involved.
